Catch up on the day’s BIGGEST NHL headlines
– Pittsburgh’s favorite zombie Sid Crosby cleared for contact!
Crosby continues his recovery from a nasty, lingering concussion he suffered last January. After today’s practice, Crosby confirmed he’s been given the “go-ahead” from his doctors. Look out league, the former MVP is coming for you!
– Malkin and Ovi helping raise money for KHL tragedy
Evgeni Malkin and Alexander Ovechkin have teamed up to raise money for the familys devestated by the September 7th plane crash that killed 44 people, many of which played for the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team of the Kontinental Hockey League. The two stars are wearing special jerseys with commemorative KHL patches and will sign them before they are auctioned off at NHL.com.
– Mark Messier running NYC marathon for charity
Messier will be running for his two favorite charities: the New York Police & Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund and the Tomorrows Children’s Fund. We may go out and watch it, just to see if he checks someone into a water station (Messy, eh?).
– Ray Emery to make first start for Blackhawks Thursday vs Jets
You hear that Winnipeg? Chicago thinks so low of you, that they are starting Ray Emery! (GO JETS GO!)
