1(1)

Washington Capitals 7-2-0 2 losses in a row. But still, you going to argue that this isn’t the best team in the league?

2(4)

Pittsburgh Penguins

8-3-2

It’s hard to ignore their point total. After a brutal stretch, the Penguins only have 2 games in the next 12 days. No expected date for Sid the kid… but our gut feeling is he’ll be ready either Nov. 5th or Nov. 11th.

3(20)

Edmonton Oilers

7-2-2

Edmonton has beaten Pittsburgh, Vancouver, Washington, and Colorado.  And Nikolai can stop bullets. I’ve seen it happen.

4(7)

Dallas Stars

8-3-0

They have had an easy schedule and with almost a week off, Dallas should continue to roll.

5(5)

Toronto Maple Leafs

7-3-1

Couldn’t stop the hottest team in the NHL, but a loss to the Sens can’t move this solid team.

6(8)

Chicago Blackhawks

6-2-2

With Detroit falling down, no one is happier than Hawks fans.
  7(6)

Los Angeles Kings

6-3-2 Two losses against VERY beatable squads have us scratching our heads. Can the Kings rally against the Penguins and Oilers?

8(3)

Colorado Avalanche

7-4-0

A good win against L.A. has stopped their free fall.

9(9)

6-4-0

Wednesday, the game of the century… Flyers vs Sabers.

10(10)

 Philadelphia Flyers

6-4-1

STOP GIVING UP SO MANY GOALS AND YOU’LL BE SOOOOO MUCH BETTER.

11(11)

Minnesota Wild

4-3-3

Each team after the top ten is just a product of guesswork, irrational hatred, and fondness of local cuisine. Apparently, I am fond of “hot-dish.”

12(2)

Detroit Red Wings

5-4-0

After winning five in a row, they’ve lost four straight. WTF?

13(19)

 Tampa Bay Lightning

5-4-2

Tampa Bay has beaten Buffalo twice. Their early five-game losing streak is starting to fade in our memory.

14(16)

Florida Panthers

6-4-0

Brian Campbell has 7 PPA in only 10 games.  That’s good right?
   15(25)

San Jose Sharks

6-3-0 The Sharks are trying to make me look like a bigger banana head.

16(12)

Vancouver Canucks

5-5-1 I kind of want to remove Vancouver and San Jose from the power rankings altogether.  I have no idea if they are terrible or great.
   17(18)

Nashville Predators

5-4-1 This team is scoring by committee, can they keep winning this way?

18(24)

Ottawa Senators

7-5-0

6 wins in a row!  1 quality opponent. We want to believe, but we’re cautious.
   19(22)

Phoenix Coyotes

5-3-2 In their past four games, the Coyotes have 3 wins and a shootout loss. Great week to end the month.
  20(17)

Carolina Hurricanes

4-4-3 They can’t kill penalties. 76.9% is 25th in the league.
   21(13)

Anaheim Ducks

5-5-0 They’re on a baaaaaaaaaaaad slide. Emilio is pissed.

22(28)

Calgary Flames

4-4-1

Two games last week, two wins. Keep it up Calgary.
23(14)  New Jersey Devils  4-4-1 Look for two straight losses against Toronto and Philly. The Devils need to figure out how to score.

24(27)

New York Rangers

3-3-3

Guess who leads the league in fights per game? Since it’s the only thing they’re good at, rumor has it they’re bringing back Avery to solidify their lead.

25(29)

Montréal Canadiens

4-5-2

Apparently firing an assistant coach solves all of your problems. (So does playing consecutive games against Boston)

26(15)

St. Louis Blues

5-6-0

There are only 6 teams with fewer wins than losses.  St. Louis is one of them.

27(26)

Winnipeg Jets

3-6-1

After a historic 9-8 win over the Flyers, the Jets were shutout by TB. Consistency will be tough for this young team.

28(23)

New York Islanders

3-4-2

I called this losing streak… and unless they can beat the Jets (which i don’t think they can) it’s going to continue for a while.

29(21)

Boston Bruins

3-7-0

The bigger they are… Has a head coach ever been fired the year after winning the Cup?

30(30)

Columbus Blue Jackets

2-9-1

They’ve won a few games, but the BJ’s have to forget about October and start over in November.
