1(1)

Washington Capitals 9-3-0 When all the news is centered around how you came back without your superstar, things are good.  Think Phil Jackson would be upset about a come from behind win with Kobe on the bench? Led by Metta World Peace?  Not a chance.

2(4)

Dallas Stars

10-3-0

Texas teams are good at stuff. Hockey is no exception. I can’t wait to see Dallas take on the Caps Tuesday night.  By the way, am I the only one that thinks Loui Eriksson looks like a hair model from the 1980s?  I think I saw him on the wall of every Mastercuts, Great Clips, and Super Cuts in the Midwest growing up.

3(2)

Pittsburgh Penguins

9-3-3

What the Hell is Icing’s own Bob Gurnett earned a concussion this weekend… and he assures me, now having first hand knowledge, that Sid will return as we predicted on the 11th.

4(3)

Edmonton Oilers

8-3-2

You can’t win them all (But Phoenix? Really?), however look for an easy one against the Habs.

5(5)

Toronto Maple Leafs

9-4-1

Really wanted to move Toronto up this week, but that dreadful performance against the Boston “We-can’t-even-buy-a-goal” Bruins, has got me second guessing myself.

6(6)

Chicago Blackhawks

8-3-3

Same old.
  7(10)

Philadelphia Flyers

8-4-2 If you’re a goaltender and you’re facing the Flyers, call in sick.

8(11)

Minnesota Wild

7-3-3

The wild are 2nd in the league in goals against. Plus they have the best sweaters in the NHL.

9(9)

8-5-0

Best penalty killers in the league.
   10(17) Nashville Predators
7-4-2 Two games left on a five game road trip. They are back to back, but winnable.
11(13)  Tampa Bay Lightning 7-5-2  They beat Florida.

12(24)

New York Rangers

7-3-3

4 straight wins, Ducks, Habs, Jets, Sharks… and they could easily win the next 4 as well.

13(12)

Detroit Red Wings

6-5-1

We believe the Red Wings will figure it out. It might have started with that 5-0 win over the Ducks.

 14(19)

Phoenix Coyotes

 7-4-2

Will winning save the franchise? Probably not, they’re averaging 10,023 fans per home game… that’s 29th in the league.
  15(15)

San Jose Sharks

7-4-1 I know they’ve been winning, but I’ve been burned before.

16(16)

Vancouver Canucks

7-7-1 If they can finish off their 6 game road trip with two wins, we’ll be impressed.
   17(7)

Los Angeles Kings

6-4-3 Five straight losses. What can ya do?

18(18)

Ottawa Senators

7-7-1

They just barely lost their last two games.  There’s not much more Milan Michalek can do, but we’d like to see him try.
  19(8)

Colorado Avalanche

7-6-1 “families are always rising and falling in America.”
   20(14)

Florida Panthers

6-4-3 Maybe their great ability to score on the power play will get them out of this 3 game slide.
  21(23)

 New Jersey Devils

6-5-1 Take the Devils’ win over the Jets… at times they seemed inspired and symbiotic, but at other times they seemed asleep at the wheel.

22(22)

Calgary Flames

6-6-1

The Flames are doing alright lately. Let’s see how hot Rene Bourque can really get.
23(29) Boston Bruins  6-7-0 18 goals in 3 games is a great way to end a hangover. Tyler Seguin deserves a raise.

24(20)

Carolina Hurricanes

 5-6-3

They’ve given up 5 goals in 5 of their losses.  When Cam Ward gives up one, he gives up a million.

25(27)

Winnipeg Jets

5-7-2

I’m afraid they Jets aren’t going to win again until they play the BJs on November 12th. Prove me wrong boys!
26(21) Anaheim Ducks   5-6-3  5 straight losses, and one of them was to the BJs.  Not looking good for this ragtag bunch.

27(25)

Montréal Canadiens

5-6-2

Other folks have the Canadiens climbing up the ladder after winning a few in a row. Not us.  I see the Habs losing five in a row.
28(26)  St. Louis Blues  6-7-0 First coach fired… I’ve never heard of Ken Hitchcock (remember I don’t know a thing about hockey), but I do know he probably can’t do too much worse.

29(28)

New York Islanders

4-6-2

Upsets do happen in sports.  Will beating the Caps be the sole bright spot on the Islanders’ season?

30(30)

Columbus Blue Jackets

2-11-1

Are the BJs the Minnesota Timberwolves of hockey?
