– Pacioretty takes an unexpected vacation
Max Pacioretty has been suspended for three games after his hit on the Penguins’ Kris Letang. No penalty was called and Letang came back to score the game-winning goal broken nose and all. Pacioretty will lose just over 26,000 dollars in salary during his three-game ban.
– Oilers lose Hall
Hotshot youngster Taylor Hall will be sidelined for 2-4 weeks with an injured left shoulder. The 20-year old has seven goals and 18 points this season. He injured the shoulder after taking two hits from Ryan Wilson and Kyle Quincey in Saturday’s contest against the Avalanche.
– Quick notches another shutout
Jonathan Quick tallied his fourth shutout of the season Monday night. More importantly, he did it against a conference and divisional rival in the San Jose Sharks. Quick made 33 saves in the effort and Mike Richards and Ethan Moreau took care of the scoring for the Kings.
– Pronger faces more time on the bench
Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger will miss four weeks following knee surgery Tuesday. The surgery is to clean out loose particles that have been hampering the D-man. Pronger has missed extended periods of time twice already this season after getting hit in the eye with a puck and most recently after catching a virus. The 37-year old has 12 points in 13 games this season.
