Boston Bruins 6 at Toronto Maple Leafs 3 – For Boston it was as easy as 1-2-3 on Wednesday night at the Air Canada Centre. The B’s scored one in the first, two in the second, and three in the third to take out the Leafs in this divisional showdown. Public enemy #1 of Buffalo Milan Lucic scored twice to lead the Bruins.
Tampa Bay Lightning 2 at Detroit Red Wings 4 – Well the Red Wings scored the first two goals in the first, Tampa Bay scored two of their own in the second. Detroit then scored the game’s final two in the third on a night the Lightning’s GM and Red Wing legend Stevie Y was honored. Tomas Holmstrom’s PPG in the third proved to be the game winner for the home team.
New Jersey Devils 1 at Colorado Avalanche 6 – This Stanley Cup rematch of yesteryear went the way the thrilling seven game series went with the Avs winning. Colorado put in three goals in the first and closed out the game with three more in the final period. It was a rare win for the ‘Lanche in Denver.
Minnesota Wild 3 at Edmonton Oilers 2 F/SO – Minnesota won their third straight road game for the first time since January of this year. Edmonton got on the scoreboard with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scoring in the first. The Oilers lead 2-0 before the Wild scored two goals in the last 10 minutes of the second period. The shootout went to the sixth round when Kyle Brodziak put in the winner, his second of the game.
Montreal Canadians 1 at Anaheim Ducks 4 – Montreal scored the first goal then Anaheim went on to score the next four. The Movember masked man Jonas Hiller got one more win with the mask and was backed by plenty of offense. Corey Perry scored his 11th goal of the season for the Ducks who break a long losing streak.
