Jonathan Quick shutout the Blackhawks...who saw that coming?

Petr Sykora, Alexander Semin each scored twice, Jonathan Quick shutsout Chicago and OT in Glendale plus San Jose

Buffalo Sabres 1 at New Jersey Devils 3 – New Jersey built a 3-0 lead before the Sabres got on the scoreboard Wednesday in Newark. Petr Sykora scored two of the three goals for the Devils in the victory.

New York Rangers 1 at Washington Capitals 4 – After being tied in the first period 1-1 the Capitals got after it in the final two periods. Alexander Semin scored the last two goals of the game for Washington as this was a mild shock to WTHII.

Minnesota Wild 1 at Nashville Predators 2 F/SO – Minnesota cannot score enough goals to win lately and the trip to Nashville was another example. The Wild sure they get a point in defeat, but it’s another loss in the record books.

Los Angeles Kings 2 at Chicago Blackhawks 0Jonathan Quick got the save against Chicago which probably was the surprise of the night. Quick was a perfect 31-of-31 on the night pitching his first shutout in what seems to be forever.

Boston Bruins 2 at Phoenix Coyotes 1 F/OT – Both teams scored in the first period and the next goal wouldn’t come until overtime. Dennis Seidenberg notched the game winner 58 second into OT for the Bruins.

Vancouver Canucks 2 at San Jose Sharks 3 F/OT – The Canucks built a 2-0 lead at the Shark tank which seemed like déjà vu to San Jose fans from last year’s conference finals. Midway through the second the home team got the score to 2-1 and tied it by the end of the period. Andrew Ebbett scored for Vancouver 3:23 into OT for the win.

Interesting side note, this puts Darryl Sutter at 3-0-1. Not a bad start. Despite all my apprehension he seems to be a good old school coach, it’ll be interesting to see how far he can take the Kings.
