The Rangers lead the East/Atlantic in points heading to the All-Star break

Detroit and Montreal will finish the first half tomorrow but most of the league did so on Tuesday night before the All-Star break

Buffalo Sabres 2 at New Jersey 1 F/OT – The Sabres finally got that elusive road victory tonight in Newark even if they need overtime and a shootout to achieve it. Buffalo was 2-for-4 in the shootout to New Jersey’s 1-for-4.

Toronto Maple Leafs 4 at New York Islanders 3 F/OT – Clarke Macarthur scored twice in the game which included the winner 2:06 into overtime. The Leafs overcame a 2-1 deficit which turned into a 3-2 lead before the Islanders tied it forcing OT which Toronto got the Macarthur goal.

Winnipeg Jets 0 at New York Rangers 3 – King Henrik got another shutout and the Rangers got goals from three different guys. New York enters the break leading the Atlantic division and the eastern conference in points.

Boston Bruins 3 at Washington Capitals 5 – The difference in this game was Matheiu Perreault had a hat trick sending the ‘Caps to a win over the champs. Washington outscored Boston 2-0 in the third period breaking the tie.

Columbus Blue Jackets 2 at Columbus Blue Jackets 4 – The second period was the difference in which Tampa Bay outscored the BJ’s 2-0. Vinny Lacavalier put in his 19th goal of the year, which came in the two goal second.

Philadelphia Flyers 3 at Florida Panthers 2 F/SO – Claude Giroux scored the winner in the shootout as Philly concluded the first their first half schedule.

Pittsburgh Penguins 3 at St. Louis Blues 2 F/SO – Pittsburgh won in a shootout in their final game before the break. James Neal opened the scoring with his 27th goal of the year.

Nashville Predators 3 at Chicago Blackhawks 1 – Nashville jumped ahead 2-0 after the first period and held on for the 3-1 win at the United Center. Both teams have 64 points but the Predators have 30 wins to the Blackhawks 29.

Anaheim Ducks 0 at Dallas Stars 1 – Dallas scored in the first period and made it stand as they defeated the Ducks at home.

Minnesota Wild 3 at Colorado Avalanche 2 – Minnesota ended a long road losing streak which must be great relief heading to the all-star break.

San Jose Sharks 1 at Calgary Flames 0 – San Jose goes to the break leading the Pacific by two points and after losing in Edmonton last night bounced back with a win in Calgary.

Ottawa Senators 2 at Phoenix Coyotes 3 – Phoenix scored a goal in each period as Ottawa drops another game after their impressive win streak. Radim Vrbata scored his 23rd goal of the season.

Edmonton Oilers 2 at Vancouver Canucks 3 F/SO – Vancouver ended the first half with a shootout win over their fellow (more successful) Canadian brethren. The Canucks won in the fifth round of the shootout.
