Why not.

–          Pens cool off Blackhawks

The NHL’s hottest team, the Chicago Blackhawks, were cooled off by the Pittsburgh Penguins last night by a score of 3-2.  The Hawks made one last furious effort after goalie Ray Emery was pulled but couldn’t get the puck past Marc-Andre Fleury with an extra attacker on the ice.  Brent Seabrook did play even after a vicious hit from Rene Bourque just two days prior.  Evgeni Malkin had three assists extending his point streak to six games.  Patrick Sharp had his nine-game point streak snapped.

–          Darryl Sutter officially named coach of the Los Angeles Kings
The NHL coaching carousel continued as GM Dean Lombardi announced Darryl Sutter as the next Kings coach.  Sutter last coached the Flames in 2006.  He will make his debut Thursday when the team faces Anaheim.  Sutter holds a career record of 409-320-131.  Interim coach John Stevens’ record was 2-2 after the firing of Terry Murray.

–          Canes save Christmas
In your feel good story of the day, the Carolina Hurricanes helped out a local soldier.  Sgt. Patrick Jacobson returned from Afghanistan December 9th to Fayetteville, NC, only to find his home had been ransacked by burglars.  Thursday, the team will donate all of the toys that were taken in the burglary.

–          Tebowing takes over the NHL
Toronto Maple Leafs Colton Orr scored the game-winner in this shootout.  How does he celebrate?  By Tebowing of course.  Check it out: http://video.mapleleafs.nhl.com/videocenter/console?hcatid=802&id=143811
